Manuscript Guidelines

Preparing Your Paper

The Journal of Engineering and Architecture Faculty of Eskisehir Osmangazi University publishes theoretical and empirical research papers in a wide range of areas in engineering sciences.

The journal publishes manuscripts either in Turkish or in English.

For each manuscript five separate files explained below should be uploaded:

a. Title Page: The title of the article (first letters of each word are capitalized) should be centered on the page. All authors’ full names, affiliations, telephone numbers and email addresses should be included on the title page below the article title.

b. Main Text: Abstract, Introduction, Method, Results and References should be included in the main text. The name and surname of the authors should not be included in the text. In order to assure anonymous review, authors should not identify themselves directly or indirectly in the manuscript. Tables, figures, and appendices, if any, should be included in this file.

c. Reviewer Suggestion Form: This form includes contact information of at least five reviewers from different universities who can evaluate the manuscript.

d. Manuscript Checklist: By filling out this checklist, the authors confirm that their manuscript conforms to the journal's format guidelines.

e. Copyright Form: Authors are asked to submit a completed and signed copyright form through the system. The submissions that fail to provide a signed copyright form will be declined and not further processed.

(Failure to submit a signed copyright form will result in rejection.)

Manuscript Checklist and Copyright Form should be downloaded through the link "Forms and Documents" on the journal's website (http://www.mmfdergi.ogu.edu.tr/) and completed forms should be uploaded to the system at the first step during manuscript submission.

 APPENDICES

The line spacing of the text should be set to 1 and each paragraph must start at the beginning of the line (there should be no indent).

The use of footnotes in the text should be avoided as much as possible.

Citations: All references should be cited in the text, in parentheses, by author(s) surname and date.

Conyon (2001) pointed out that ...............

To cite a study with two authors, use the following citation style:

... a need for change based on discomfort reports (Seçkiner and Kurt, 2001).

Seçkiner and Kurt (2004) those who have been working at a computer for a long time...

To cite a study with multiple authors, use the following citation style:

For manuscripts in English: (Conyon et al., 2001)

For manuscripts in Turkish: (Conyon ve diğ., 2001)

To use multiple citations at the same sentence, please use the following style:

(Arnault et al., 2001; Collins and Muchinsky, 1993; Morgeson, 2001) …..

Tables: Tables should be placed in the text following the paragraph where they are referred for the first time. Table caption should be positioned on top of the table. A period should be inserted after the table number in the caption. In the table caption, first letter of the initial word should be capitalized, whereas the other words should be in lowercase. Table and the table caption should be both centered.

Figures: All images (such as photographs, drawings, diagrams, graphics, maps, etc.) that do not contain a table should be named as a figure.  All figures should be of high quality and legible, and should be placed in the text following the paragraph where they are referred for the first time. The figure should be created/supplied in jpg or Word image format. Figure caption should be placed below the figure. A period should be inserted after the figure number in the caption.
